Memorial Day 2012 Remembering Those Who Served

I visited Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery on Memorial Day 2011. When I turned the first corner after entering the gate, I was immediately awestruck. Seeing row upon row of white stones is a humbling experience. I encourage everyone to visit a National Cemetery if they have the chance.

  1. My grandfather is buried there, as well. It is a surreal site, yet so peaceful. While I love the diversity of the typical cemetery, there is something so moving about the row after row of the white stones, somehow it seems to put things more in perspective. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Love the yellow, blue and red color combination in both this and the layout about your Mom and Dad. Also like the subtle references to the flag.

  3. Linda & Heather, I have an uncle buried there. The place is huge as it is and they were starting on the expansion last Memorial Day!

  4. Thanks Jennifer. I really like that color combo, as soon as I saw the kit "Old Glory" I knew I had to have it!
